... and other classics of skateboarding influence on streetwear.
Its beginnings should be sought in 1966, where the brothers Van Doren and their two partners opened in California their first shoe store, with the self-created Vans # 44 currently known as Authentic. At the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, along with the growing wave of skateboarding, skateboarders appreciated the durable and adhesive, brand-specific sole. The most influential riders at the time - Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta created for Vans in 1974 a shoe called # 95, which is the progenitor of the Era model. The following years saw the expansion of the assortment of shoes on the ankle and their clothes in Vans Sidestripe, which are still characteristic today. The success of the Van Doren brothers caused that in the following decades, more skateboard brandies, focused on the production of footwear and also clothes, began to emerge. One of the first was Thrasher, whose fiery logo warmed up the board enthusiasts once a month thanks to the magazine with that name, devoted entirely to the skaters and their struggles. Awarded since 1990 the title of "Skater Of The Year" belongs to the most prestigious awards of the industry. The brand is associated with many great personalities of extreme sport but also celebrities, which shows the scale of Thrasher's influence on the rest of society. Next generations growing on icons of skateboarding culture saw in the creation of their collections the possibility of personal development and their own creativity. This is perfectly illustrated by the keynote of the founder of HUF - Keith Hufnagel - "Go it out and create your own future - do it yourself, do it in style." Creating skateboarder clothes for them helped to create a brand not only in the American yard but also to open conceptual stores in Japan. As the expansion of the initially financially weak brands making clothing for the boarders grew stronger, the giant Nike SB entered the game. In 2002, Nike Skateboarding created a separate line for fans of skateboards quickly gaining their admiration and recognition.

In Poland, the beginnings of board and clothing fascination with dedicated horsemen should be sought at the turn of the 80s and 90s when, due to Western magazines and access to foreign television, the worldview of skaters from the Vistula River was developing. The change of political mood and the opening of a road to own economic initiatives resulted in the creation of dozens of skateboarding brands, a few of which remained on the market, replaced by a different look at driving, especially fashion, the next generation. Native producers include Nervous, Turbokolor or POGO.
