The obtained master's degree in film and television arts allowed for further development in the audiovisual field, as music had an equally important place in films as his individual shots and frames.
From the beginning, Spike's work was dominated by social topics - racial issues, the role of the media in building awareness, crime, poverty and the resulting exclusions. Lee often touched on these big problems in a playful way, but always forced the recipient to think about his own choices in seemingly everyday situations, as he portrayed his characters. Finally, he created an engaged cinema for his brothers, in which many whites found universal values.
